Chess2Inspire Association is a registered non-profit organization promoting chess to BC kids. The target audience of the summer camps are kids from grades 2 to 9 who has basic chess knowledge (rules and simple tactics**). Chess has proven to be of tremendous benefits to kids’ brain and social development. The Summer Camp introduces kids to advanced knowledge and theory of the chess game.

** This camp is a perfect continuation for kids who have attended the Beginner's Chess Course in the Richmond Public Library.

The Summer Camp will cover advanced topics of a chess game.

  • Advanced Tactics
  • Pieces Coordination
  • How to Plan
  • Game Strategies

The Camps consists of lessons, game practices, tournaments and fun activities.

Camp Size: 12 - 24 kids

Age Group: Grades 2 to 9

Instructor: Jeremy Hui (2-time National Champion, 5-time Provincial Champion)

Spirit of Math SchoolsSteveston Math Morning Camps: Aug 14-18 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This program is primarily intended for students entering grades 2 and 6 who want a “refresher” before school starts. It is also ideal for new students who would like to experience the Spirit of Math classroom or establish some skills before starting the school year evening classes.

Content includes addition and multiplication drills, number theory topics such as regrouping and mental math, and problem-solving topics such as consecutive number problems, counting shapes, date problems, cuts and pieces, and integers.
